Amtrak Bus Connections

Three daily one-way northbound buses from Santa Barbara with an additional northbound one-way bus from San Luis Obispo supplement train service on the north end of our route. Additionally, three daily one-way southbound buses from Oakland to Santa Barbara with an additional southbound one-way bus from Oakland to San Luis Obispo provide a connection to the Bay Area.

Two daily one-way eastbound trips and two daily one-way westbound trips provide connections to Cabazon, Downtown Palm Springs, Indio and other stops.

Amtrak San Joaquins

Amtrak San Joaquins offers connections to other top destinations, including Pasadena, Santa Monica Pier, Westwood/UCLA, and Las Vegas.

Capitol Corridor

Capitol Corridor operates several dedicated connecting bus routes that connect you from the train to areas throughout California’s Central Coast, and even to Nevada and Oregon.

At this time, Amtrak Connection services are sold only as part of a Pacific Surfliner rail trip.

Yes, passengers may bring bikes onboard as long as there is space available.

Reservations are required on Amtrak Connection buses, so we can ensure everyone has a seat. If you need to board an earlier or later bus, modify your reservation in advance of your trip. This can be done on Amtrak.com (modify trip button), the Amtrak app, at 800-USA-RAIL, or staffed Amtrak stations.

Yes, Amtrak Connection bus services are accessible and lift-equipped. Thruway services provided by partners are also accessible but may require up to 48 hours advance notice. Please specify that you are traveling with a disability when making a reservation.

There is a guaranteed connection between the Amtrak Connection and Pacific Surfliner trains. If either the bus or train is late, the connecting service will wait. If the delay is extensive, passengers will be accommodated on the next available departure.
