The Pacific Surfliner serves stations in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties. There are daily round trips between San Diego and Los Angeles, with some trips extending up to Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo. Service on the northern end of our route is supplemented with Amtrak Thruway bus service.

Important Updates

  • San Diego Travel Advisory – San Clemente Track Closure: Tracks in San Clemente will be closed for approximately six weeks starting April 28 due to coastal resiliency construction work. During the closure, Pacific Surfliner service will operate between San Luis Obispo–San Juan Capistrano and Oceanside–San Diego with an Irvine-Oceanside bus connection. See details.
  • San Diego Travel Advisory - Del Mar Bluffs: Ongoing construction work on the Del Mar Phase Five project, which is stabilizing the railroad right-of-way along bluffs in Del Mar, may cause periodic schedule changes on Sunday nights through Tuesday mornings effecting service to/fromDowntown San Diego’s Santa Fe and Old Town San Diego stations. Click for more info, closure dates, and bus schedules.
